Hear Tech Solutions was founded in Perth, Western Australia in 2025 by Dr Mel Ferguson and Kathryn Penno. Dr Mel is known for her research in the hearing health field, being a trail blazer in consumer design and inclusion and providing evidence based research that helps the consumer in real life environments. Her works include C2 Hear, M 2 Hear and leading the team with HearChoice.

 

Kathryn (Kat) is a masters qualified Clinical Audiologist and runs Perth Audiology & Hearing Clinic (www.perthaudiology.com). She is experienced in human centred design and taking evidence based research and putting it in to everyday use. Kat has a track record for start-ups including Hearing Collective, Nuheara, consultancy and working with well known brands like Apple.

Together, Mel and Kat strive to improve consumer engagement in hearing health and challenge the status quo of the audiology industry.

This is where HearTech Solutions came from. A natural drive to have better access to hearing healthcare and try new ways to improve clinical practice and outcomes for consumers and clinicians.
